My girlfriend turned me on to something that changed my life completely about 2 months ago and I have been using it ever since. My husband really wasn't and isn't concerned about doing something to prevent snoring, mostly because he thinks i make to much of it. Even though i have suggested a lot of things and tell him about all the health /snoring articles and snoring reviews I read. She said her husband was pretty much the same way too. My opinion is that most snoring spouses probably don't hav…

We have all driven when we are fatigued. 1500 annual deaths and 100,000 accidents are attributed to drowsy driving. When was the last time you caught yourself nodding off at the wheel while driving?
We have recently finished laboratory testing of a device (now commercially available) that prevents microsleep/falling asleep and makes drivers 25% to 40% more alert. (Tests results printed in the National Defense Industry Association GVSETS 2009 Symposium.) Drowsy drivers can't fall asleep when usi…

Hi everyone:
I saw that eplivanserin received a complete response letter not long ago. I have seen a few posters at APA and APSS through the years. Given the drug's effect on sleep maintenance, potential for non-controlled status, and potential impact on SWS what are your thoughts on the 5HT compounds such as eplivanserin and the FDA's response?
Any comments are welcomed.

I guess like a lot of people on this site, I am not a good sleeper - since my teenage years I have 'got by' on a few hours sleep each night. As I'm sure most of you realize, this is not an ideal situation and it affected my quality of life in many ways.
This way of life continued for many years until I was well into my thirties by which time I could afford to buy myself a seriously expensive mattress. I went for a Kingsdown mattress which was recommended to me by a co-worker who had suffered fr…

We have been having this problem for some time now. My husband is going through a custody battle. Right now we have his kids every 2 weeks and they stay with their mon every 2 weeks. My 3 year old step daughter wakes up at night crying and wants her daddy to sleep with her. What can we do to get her to sleep at night in her own bed?

I've been up since 4:30 this morning and it's 9:00 pm now. I thought I'd get an early start on bedtime - since I've been exhausted all day - but sleep did not come. I gave a presentation very early this morning, and I've been very preoccupied about doing it well. So, there was some stress beforehand. But I'm now finished and should be tired enough to hit the sack early.
But, I'm not. Sigh...

When I first got hit with insomnia I would get maybe 30 minutes of shallow sleep every night. I'll keep this short. I went the pill route. The pill that helped me most was amitriptylene. I began with 125 mg; managed to get it down to 25mg; then back up; then back down; then... I'm sure you've been there also. When our new grandson was born he would cry ALL DAY EVERY DAY. He would take naps, and sleep at night. But when he was awake he cried. This went on for 3 months and several doctors. A lady…

I think the quality of a mattress has a great impact on your sleep. I used to sleep on a rusty, innerspring mattress and I recently upgraded to the sleep number bed and am enjoying every minute of it. The best sleep I have had in years!

Ok, like many Americans, I am recently unemployed. Since being let go, I think I average about 4 hours a night of sleep, and it is restless at best. I worry about things like
Medical insurance and
Dental insurance for my family, mortgage and car payments, college tuition in two short years, my retirement fund, etc. How do you clear your mind at night and relax enough to sleep? I can't.

I have had some problems in the past but now my insomnia seems to be getting worse. I don't want to depend on drugs. I have trouble falling asleep. I did not sleep 3 nights out of the last 2 weeks. The only thing I'm aware of while I sleep is talking and snoring. My husband says neither is loud or disturbs him. I'm somewhat overweight (5"4" 190lb) and I'm working on that as well as trying to walk more. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You

I have been having problems with sleep for a while now. My wife says that I am pretty violent when I sleep. She says that I kick, punch, roll around the entire bed, sometimes I even roll right over her. I talk, even scream in my sleep. Ocasionaly she has even caught me sleep walking. She has stopped sleeping in the same bed with me because I have punched and kicked her one to many times. I have had several sleep studies done but the results seem to contradict. the first 2 studies were done in vi…

My computer is EVIL! It has caused me health problems, weight gain, and sleep deprivation. The damn thing has already cost me one
angioplasty (
heart surgery) and I'm pretty sure I will need weight loss surgery of some kind soon too. I'm hooked on it like a rock star gets hooked on cocaine. Maybe I could sue Microsoft or Dell and charge that they are in a conspiracy with…

I need help everyone. My 18 month old daughter does not sleep well and she hasn't for her whole life. She wakes at least 3-4 times a night and sometimes it can be as bad as 7-9 times a night. She wakes up, takes a drink (to soothe herself I guess) and then goes back to sleep. There are some nights where she does not want anything to drink and just cries for a while. Some nights she snores really loud and changes positions a lot. I have spoken to her doctor about it but they brush it off as no bi…

New, Advanced Pillow Design Offers Relief for People Who Snore – and Their Significant Others!
There have been dozens of snore relief products manufactured in the past decade. Some of them slightly alter or diminish snoring, but none of them have been truly effective. Snoring not only causes the snorer to lose sleep and deprive themselves of needed rest, but the person who shares their bed suffers from lack of sleep as well. Snoring can be loud – the loudest snore on record logged in at 112.8 d…

Hi, Oswald here
I have not tested the bed pillow you mentioned. But I did find a way to reduce my snoring and prevent sleep apnoea.
Delighted that I can communicate with you. I am a victim of this condition, snoring and sleep apnoea. I never thought much about it, till my test (polysomnogram) showed a very poor result. Those who suffer from, especially seep apnoea must take their condition very seriously and do something about it.. It is not a good feeling, waking up at 2 am and gasping for br…

Hello, all! I'm new to pillow talk, but hope to be a regular presence. I'm a chronic insomniac, going back to childhood. On a totally unrelated note, I'm also familiar with Ning, the platform for this social network. I'm interested in this technology and run two other Ning sites as an administrator.
But - sleep! Right now I only get it with the help of medication and even that's so-so. It's the difference between poor sleep and no sleep. I recently underwent a migraine study and had to go off o…
