Would anyone be interested in starting an insomnia patient advocacy group? Given that this condition seriously affects millions of people, the $20 million that NIH is spending for researching insomnia seems grossly inadequate. There is little understanding or research on the underlying biology of insomnia. And according to a number of sleep researchers quoted in Gayle Greene's book, "Insomniac", other sleep disorders increased their funding due to advocacy of patient run groups.
